Running water river project

by Fellowship Agency June 8, 2018

This #WhatsInMyTray activity is great indoors or outside and is a great task for your class. Using a range of different materials, challenge the students to create a river running from a Jumbo (F3) Gratnells Tray to a Shallow (F1) Gratnells Tray. It must be about to hold running water and should comfortably reach from one tray to the other.

You will need…

  • 1 Jumbo (F3) Gratnells Tray
  • 1 Shallow (F1) Gratnells Tray
  • Materials to make the river, including but not limited to:
    • Recycled plastic bottles
    • Plastic piping
    • Recycled tubs
    • Tin foil
    • Cardboard tubing
  • Strong sticky tape
  • Water and watering can
  • Optional objects to pass down the river to test stability

Health and Safety

As with all Gratnells What’s In My Tray Activities, you should carry out your own risk assessment and health & safety measurements prior to undertaking any of the activities with children.
