Help with counting, sorting and classifying

by Fellowship Agency October 13, 2017

There are a range of different shaped counters that can be used for different maths activities including counting, sorting and classifying.

The counters shaped like animals, transport and, in this case, fruit, are great for classifying based on a range of characteristics.

We’ve used our fruit counters to create an activity to help children with addition using materials that they will already be familiar with.

A Gratnells tray and insert can be used to create a tidy and well organised work station for each student or working group in the classroom.

Please refer to Edx Education Mathematics Manipulatives Reference Guide by Dr. Paul Swan for more information about their different counters and how you can use them in your classroom.
