Drama – character interpretation

This What’s in my tray? activity is a drama based game to use at home. Create this simple activity with resources found around your home.

• Drama (KS2 onwards)
• Character interpretation
• Simple to do at home.

What to do:

• Find an empty container or box.
• Fill it with resources like hats, scarves, wigs, bags, tiara etc to illustrate different characters.
• Each player takes it, in turn, to choose an item from the box and use the prop to interpret a character.
• To make it harder you could use a blindfold so the player can’t see the items in the box and they have to choose one at random.
